The Junior Committee welcomes Frank Schwarz from Germany who was nominated in Monaco to be part of the committee.

Composition:

The Junior Committee consists of "young" scientists and clinicians, who currently hold or have recently held an academic or higher training position. The aims of this committee are to assist the EAO Board in specific tasks and to bring new ideas to improve the Association. Ailsa Nicol from the UK, Isabella Rocchietta from Italy, David Nisand from France and Ronald Jung from Switzerland have been actively working in the Committee since 2007. Thoedoros Kapos from Greece, Victor Palarie from Moldova and Michael Payer from Austria joined the Junior Committee in Warsaw, September 2008. Frank Schwarz from Germany just joined the committee in 2009.

Goal:

The EAO Junior Committee is aiming at supporting the Board and developing new ideas for the improvement and growing of the association, following EAO’s view to work for the good of patients. EAO Junior Committee meeting were held and the very dynamic team augurs well for the implementation of new projects and developments of the scientific society.

Regulations:

At the EAO annual meeting, all Junior Committee members are granted:
- congress fee
- hotel accommodation: 3-4 nights (as determined by the EAO Board)
- transportation: economy flights/train

At other Junior Committee meetings, Junior Committee members are granted:
- hotel accommodation: 1 night
- transportation: economy flight/train

The Junior Committee will usually meet two or three times a year according to the needs and direction of the EAO Board.
