16 – 19 February 2006, Seedamm Plaza, Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland

The European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) organized its first closed consensus conference from February 16 to 19, 2006 in Switzerland in Seedamm Center close to Zurich. It was a three-day meeting in an inspiring environment with a number of experts in the following fields related to osseointegration:

- Biomechanical aspects of implants

- Soft tissue integration of implants  

- Local and systemic conditions potentially compromizing osseointegration.  

This consensus conference has lead to a publication in the form of a special issue of Clinical Oral Implants Research, the official journal of EAO.
