Dear colleagues and friends,

on behalf of the "European Association for Osseointegration" and the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie" I am delighted to welcome you to our first joint meeting in Berlin. The German Society of Implantology is excited and honoured to be co-host for this meeting and to welcome our european and worldwide colleagues and friends.

The general topic of this year´s annual meeting is "Controversies and Handling of Defect Sites". The organizing committee has invited a spectrum of speakers from all over the world, which will deliver cutting-edge research, thought-provoking ideas and step- by-step clinical techniques.

In addition to the main scientific program

we have included 5 special gold sponsor courses, scheduled before and after the meeting.

The city of Berlin will serve to provide an atmosphere in which to learn with enjoyment, to rekindle friendships and to establish new contacts. Additionally its location between east and west is in a perfect position to offer us a variety of cultural and entertaining events.
